Yes why don't we just inconvenience the Charlesview Residents with all the Harvard employee parking in our area who block our entrances and exitings points to Western Ave, and North Harvard st. We have endured this problem for many years seance the parking has stoped on North Harvard all of the cars have moved over to Western Ave. I don't see what you are saying Western Ave does not have resident only parking.
I don't see the signs that are suppose to be posted further down western ave might have it but by Charlesview it is non existence.
So deal with the PARKING LIKE WE HAVE TO.

Ugh!
This is so frustrating.

On the one hand, since the 66 & 86 also use N. Harvard Street, the idea of having a bike lane and parking doesn't seem too good - especially during rush-hours.
If only the city actually enforced the ban on parking...

On the other hand, I agree with you about the inaccurate statement regarding permit parking in L.A. - it's not everywhere, and I like it that way too. I don't want every HBS employee, and commuting student who doesn't want to pay the REASONABLE (a few dollars a day) yearly lot fee hunting around for spaces every morning, and high-tailing it down Franklin while not remembering that people live here. Oh, and then there are the kids that just park their cars on N. Harvard and leave them for MONTHS... I guess they'll park them in our neighborhood now and let them sit for months instead.

Harvard needs to do a better job of working with the MBTA to improve mass transit in the area (not a private shuttle), to create more incentives for employees to leave their cars at home.

The city needs to actually do more research before making statements about permit parking. Sure, parts of Western Ave, and all of Riverdale Street have permit parking, but many streets further in don't. I guess they didn't want to take the time to do the research.

**sigh**
